FAQs

What kind of counsellor are you?

I strive in offering my clients a soft place to land, explore and grow. I am a person-centered counsellor who understands that only you are the expert of your life. The answers live inside you, I am here to support you in the journey of self discovery. I thrive in exploration of attachment styles, negative thought patterns, coping with anxiety and the hardships of motherhood.

What is the purpose of a discovery call?

A complimentary 15 minute discovery call (virtually or by phone) is offered to anyone interested in working with me. This helps us both make sure we are the right fit. During this call we will learn more about each other and the collaborative counselling process. There are no strings attached, you have the freedom to decide if you want to move forward.

How can i get the most out of the counselling Experience?

Counselling is a collaborative process, and your willingness to engage is an important part of creating change.

Change often means stepping outside of familiar patterns and trying new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding. This can feel uncomfortable, but meaningful growth often happens when we are willing to gently move beyond our comfort zone.

Be patient and committed to the process. Change takes time, and motivation will naturally come and go. Sometimes commitment simply means continuing to show up and taking the next small step.

Most importantly, trust yourself and the process. You don't need to have everything figured out or be “fixed.” Counselling is an opportunity to understand yourself, recognize the beliefs and patterns you've learned, and develop new ways of moving forward.

You don't have to do it perfectly. Just show up, be honest, stay curious, and take the next step.

How frequent are the sessions?

To experience progress, a client is most likely to benefit when they commit to a period of regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions. Once a client has gone through a course of therapy and experienced progress in the areas they came in for, they may then benefit from less frequent visits that can be thought of as "check-ins" or "boosters”. With this being said, these are simply suggestions, you have the ultimate choice.
